Asemic Sound Experience by Tatiana Roumelioti

Post-Asemic Press is excited to release a short 4 track ep of sound poetry by the great artist Tatiana Roumelioti. Check it out now on the PAP Bandcamp site. Tatiana warps language in suspenseful new ways and takes the asemic off the page and into wild new terrain. She also explains the word asemic from its origin in the Greek language in the final track.  The album is the latest release from the PAP sonic division. Look for more sound poetry, experimental poetry, noise poetry, and vocalized asemic poetry to be released by PAP in the future. Happy listening!

Somnolent Game by Michael Jacobson | A few sample pages read by the author.

Here are three sample pages from Somnolent Game read by the author Michael Jacobson. The book will be released from Post-Asemic Press in April of 2022. Somnolent Game is a prose poetry novella about a bot maniac who has achieved sentience due to someone else’s fragmented memories. He is an insomniac and is trying to escape violence and dream his way into paradise. Along the way he has many mental challenges that he must overcome. The story is written in a quick stream-of-conscious writing style that reflects the author’s actual thought processes along with memories both real and fictional. I have been hard at work on this book over the past year. I plan on bringing it out next month (April 2022) because it will be national poetry month. The process of writing the book was something of an exorcism. I used to play a lot of violent video games but stopped playing them because I got sick of how they were so controlling over me. Somnolent Game is about becoming something new out of the culture of ashes. The world is so violent I decided to stop feeding the conflict in my own small way. It has been years since I seriously played video games and I am much more productive without them.  I realize that they aren't real, but as someone with the sense that reality and virtual worlds feed off one another, I decided to try and exist more peacefully in the real world and this has also carried over into becoming a vegetarian and doing meditation along with making art again. If people enjoy playing video games that is their business but for me my mind has had enough and I think I have reached a better awareness about my mind and spirit. Somnolent Game is my story told in poetic fragments unified into a real virtuality.
